Diminishing Breast Milk Production?

“Hi,

I’ve been instructed by my gynecologist to take Dostinex to diminish my milk production, because my breast were becoming hard and I was feeling pain. I was taking it out manually but it wasn’t enough.
I took two pills, one each day, but now I fear my milk could stop. Is there any risk?

Marcela” Dear Marcela,

If you want to keep breastfeeding you baby you must STOP immediately taking this medicine and do not rely anymore on your gynecologist!

Dostinex is a inhibitor of the prolactine and it is used to eliminate breastfeeding as well as in the Parkinson disease treatment! It is considered a not enough safe medicine even though it has not registered until now negative consequences on mothers and babies.

If you have too much milk maybe your baby is not sucking enough or not often enough. You also can take a good action becoming a donor of human milk. Consult the La Leche League International.

Best regards”
